SUMMARY

The HVAC Technician-R is responsible for the provision of building operations, maintenance and repairs in assigned facilities. This job works on a wide variety of assigned tasks under the direction of the Maintenance Team Leader.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out the day-to-day execution of operations and maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted tenant operations and that asset integrity is maintained either directly or via building automation systems
  • Trouble shoot, analyse and determine the root cause of equipment and building problems
  • To perform corrective maintenance and repairs within scope of key trade designation
  • Respond to service request and demand maintenance; record data and ensure completed work meets quality and response requirements
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance (PM) programs to increase efficiency of building operations
  • Receive, track, monitor and report status of maintenance and repair work. Initiates documents to authorize or obtain formal approval of work required
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, and fire protection
  • Be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-out as required
  • Represent CBRE/AFSI in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations
  • Oversees and maintains all assigned tools and arranges for the calibration/inspection/repair and replacement where required.

EDUCATION, JOB-RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • High school completion plus a specialized technical or business course

  • JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • More than three years up to five years

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Requires minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience as certified / Journeyman Refrigeration Technician
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn
  • Work well independently and be a team player
  • Consistently present and maintain a positive and professional image
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Awareness of Environment, Health & Safety requirements

LICENSES AND/OR PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION

  • Must possess HVAC –R Red Seal certification and minimum Gasfitter B certification

  • Must meet site and/or position specific security clearance requirements imposed by the client for an assigned location and/or region

  • Valid drivers’ license (as required)

  • The successful candidate will be required to attain and maintain a valid and active RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance (ERSC). Please note, a condition for attaining an Enhanced Reliability Security (ERS) clearance includes the condition that applicants must have lived in Canada a minimum of five years to apply for ERS. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

SUPERVISION/DIRECTION EXERCISED

  • The position is not responsible for providing direct supervision.
  • Provide escort, support, monitoring and review Vendor performed work.

PHYSICAL ASSETS/INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

  • May operate a Company issued vehicle in alignment with CBRE/AFSI and/or any other applicable Policies and procedures
  • Operate and maintain equipment and use of tools in alignment with CBRE/AFSI and/or any other applicable Policies and procedures
  • All applicable IT assets to be used in alignment with CBRE/AFSI and/or any other applicable Policies and procedures

FINANCIAL RESOURCES

  • All financial decisions/purchases to be made in alignment with CBRE/AFSI and/or any other applicable Policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports/transactions related to authorized expenditures

This is a unionized role with the BCGEU governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a 35 hour per week position and the rate of pay for this role is 45.79$/hour. This position is eligible for participation in the Public Service Pension Plan and Extended Health and Dental benefits after 6 months of service.”
