Public Area Attendant (Full-Time)
About the role
We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to help us maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across Red Deer Resort & Casino. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a similar role, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of creating a welcoming and safe environment for both guests and staff.
Summary
Under the direction of theExecutive Housekeeper, thePublic Area Attendantis responsible for including but not limited to cleaning public areas and public washrooms, ensuring that it’s clean and properly presented. The Public Area Attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and will be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Efficiently cleans assigned washroom, fitness center, pool, restaurant, lounges, lobby and elevator.

Cleans all assigned service areas keeping them clean, safe and hygienic.

Undertake other cleaning programs and to the performance standards required.

Packs and replenishes trolleys to the required standard at the end of each shift; keep trolleys neat and tidy.

Advise Supervisor/Manager of stock shortages and any tools that break
-
Respond to guest inquiries, requests and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.

Record lost property items left in public areas and provide them to the Supervisor/Manager.

Promptly report maintenance and safety hazards to the Supervisor/Manager
-
Take personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all times.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products and the correct handling procedures.
-
Attends departmental briefings, training, meetings etc., as directed by the Supervisor/Manager ensuring all relevant information is passed on.

Reports any unusual or suspicious persons/activities happening in the area of security to the manager, therefore looking after the welfare and safety of both staff and guests.

Responsible for replacing and reporting missing items in a public area, such as paper towel dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensers etc.

The immediate supervisor/manager may change your role/duties depending on the needs of the operation

Performs other duties as required
Education, Qualification and Requirements
-
Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check
-
Physically able to perform all duties of the position
-
Ability to follow instructions and to work independently
-
Strong Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and cleaning equipment
-
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
-
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is an asset
-
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude - Able to communicate both verbally and written in English
-
Comfortable with using common household chemicals.

First Aid/CPR preferred
Work Environment
-
Able to stand and walk repeatedly over the course of a shift
-
Ability to tolerate exposures to heat, cold and water.
-
Experience using public area cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, commercial vacuums, and steam cleaners.
-
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
-
While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching and crouching
-
Regularly exposed to including but not limited to contaminants, industrial cleaning chemicals, and dust and dirt.
Hours of Work
-
The hours of work for this position will vary depending on operational requirements but will include early morning, evening and late night, as well as weekends and holidays.
