About the role

Position Scope:

The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for a Fleet Manager. Nuna is Canada's leading and largest Inuit-owned heavy civil construction, mining and remediation contractor. Reporting to the Director, Fleet and Maintenance, the Fleet Manager assists in the coordination and management of all company wide fleet managment iniaiatives for the safe and cost effective operation of the NUNA fleet.

Responsibilities:

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the robust task of maintaining the company fleet in conjunction with the Maintenance Superintendents, Fleet Administrators, Inventory, and Logistics teams.
  • With the assistance of the Equipment Coordinator/Finance Team, manage the set-up and delivery program of all new company assets and equipment.
  • Manage fleet administration- Work order management, licensing, registration, permits etc. with the assistance of department Fleet Administrators.
  • Assist in the management the company wide disposal program.
  • Assist in the management the company wide Internal Transfer of assets and equipment process.
  • Play an integral role in the upfit/standardization program of all fleet assets.
  • Monitors adherence to mandated life cycle/PM parameters of assets and equipment.
  • Assists with the completion of capital business cases for the acquisition of new capital.
  • Assists with the sourcing, developing, and managing of strategic suppliers/vendors for assigned projects/disciplines.
  • Engage with other Nuna and NACG department’s including but not limited to, estimating, contracts, and finance.
  • Assist in the monitoring of vendor/supplier performance.
  • Assists in the coordination and transfer of equipment between projects and scopes of work.
  • Analyze report findings and data and make reccomendations when required.
  • Collaborate with senior functional leaders to establish short-term and long-term business objectives.
  • Seek continousus opportunities for cost savings/avoidance.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Various tasks include:

  • Oversee staff/peer training.
  • Attend multi-departmental meetings as required.
  • Lead various meetings.
  • Oversee the analysis of support data and the preparation of reporting (i.e. JDE etc.)
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated ability in Vendor Management Practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications/ERP Software

Work Experience and Education:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or equivalent
  • Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Qualification would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability in Vendor Management Practices
