Position Overview

We’re looking for an accountant who’s eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership of the day-to-day tasks that keep our finances running smoothly. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll focus on accounts payable, reconciliations, and expense management, while also supporting payroll and other key finance functions.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to strengthen their accounting foundation in a fast-growing company while being mentored by an experienced finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Receive, code, and post vendor invoices in Xero.
• Monitor the AP inbox and manage vendor/partner inquiries through Tipalti.
• Reconcile vendor account statements to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and execute vendor payments (wires, checks, etc.) on schedule.
• Ensure invoices are properly approved in line with internal policies.
• Verify that sales taxes are coded correctly on all invoices and transactions.

Banking & Reconciliations

• Reconcile bank accounts daily to maintain accuracy and completeness.
• Process and match credit card transactions.
• Record employee expense reimbursements.
• Monitor the expense management platform Float and ensure transactions are properly recorded.

Payroll Support

• Help prepare the Canadian payroll using Wagepoint.
• Assist the finance team with international payroll processing through Deel.

General Accounting Support

• Maintain well-organized and accurate accounting records along with all supporting documentation.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies as needed.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
• Ensure all credit card expenses are recorded in the proper accounting period, maintaining accuracy in cut-off and completeness.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, or strong motivation to grow in a hands-on accounting role.
• Familiarity with accounting software (Xero) and productivity tools such as Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Slack.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
