The Opportunity
RVS invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Learning Specialist in the Technology for Learning Department at the Education Centre in Airdrie commencing August 27, 2026 to June 30, 2030. This position will be under the guidance of the Director of Technology for Learning.
RVS supports the concept of teacher as designer of learning. As such we subscribe to the use of technology to advance our school initiatives. We utilize technology to creatively collaborate and inspire schools, administrators, and staff with their initiatives.
RVS is currently looking for an individual who embraces the principles of 21st Century teaching and learning. The successful candidate will utilize technology, design thinking and progressive pedagogy to create accessible, engaging and authentic learning opportunities for our students. The ideal candidate will embrace working collaboratively in a team environment.
The successful candidate must have access to reliable transportation as this position requires travel between RVS sites.
Responsibilities
- Support RVS educational technologies
- Support innovative and emerging technologies
- Support the use of assistive and augmentative technologies
- Working with Design Thinking and Instructional Design
- Working with the Making Learning Visible Initiative
- Providing and conducting professional learning opportunities for staff
- Graduate work in Education Technology will be considered an asset
Pre-employment Requirements
- Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate, you must have applied for initial certification with Alberta Education at
- New/Recent Graduates only: in lieu of a reference letter, please submit your final practicum.
- Applicants must provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed, and dated within the past 18 months.
- The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment
