About the Role
We are seeking a motivated QA Summer Student or Recent Graduate to join our Quality Assurance team in a fast-paced meat processing facility. This entry-level opportunity provides hands-on experience in food safety, HACCP compliance, environmental monitoring, and quality systems.
This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build practical experience in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with environmental swabbing (ATP, ACC, Listeria)
- Support HACCP monitoring and verification activities
- Participate in pre-operational inspections
- Assist with product sampling and documentation
- Review Certificates of Analysis (CofAs)
- Enter QA data into spreadsheets and internal systems
- Support label verification and product hold/release processes
- Participate in internal audits and quality improvement projects
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related program
- Basic understanding of HACCP and GMPs (asset)
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in a cold production environment
- Reliable transportation required
Working Conditions
- Early start times
- Cold manufacturing environment
- Physically active roles (standing, walking, inspections)
