Location: Kitimat

About the Role

Reporting to the Central Services Supervisor, the Civil Services Co-Ordinator is part of the Maintenance Team in the Production Department and is responsible to manage the organization and coordination of all Civil, Labor, Industrial Cleaning, Equipment Rentals and Landscaping across site including Non-Process Buildings.

They will provide input into the CMMS project, providing optimal efficiency for safe and efficient operation.

They will oversee the competence assurance and development for the Civil Services contract workforce and guide the process to assure competence for contractors and sub-contractors.

They will work closely with the Maintenance Team Leads to ensure timely support of services, to meet production requirements and integrity standards.

They will provide coverage for the Site Services Team Lead when they are absent.

They will ensure that the processes are maintained and function effectively for optimal Business support.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Lead the Civil Services Team to support effective maintenance execution and production optimization.
  • Be the custodian of the Civil Team’s competence development and assurance, supporting the Learning and Development department in maintaining the competency matrix for contractors.
  • Proactively drive flawless execution by adopting quality management procedures with discipline quality control check sheets.
  • Monitor and guide the Civil Services Contractors to safely deliver quality services.
  • Devise and implement measures to effectively manage sub-contractors, ensuring that LNG Canada safety and quality standards are not compromised
  • Champion the strategy of Lean and Continuous Improvement within the discipline for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conduct assurance activities to verify compliance with procedures and contracts.
  • Find opportunities for development and use of digitalization and digital tools vs. the way we have always done it, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and future proofing our business

To be successful, you will have:

  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to Diversity and Inclusion through collaboration across functional and cultural boundaries.
  • Develop the capabilities of others through coaching, mentoring and providing growth opportunities that help people build their careers.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Civil and/or Maintenance discipline, with at least 4 years in the position of leading contract teams. Contractor management is a key experience.
  • Extensive experience in the Civil and Industrial Cleaning areas. Experience in Scaffolding, Insulation and Heavy Lifting is an asset.
  • SAP Blueprint, Maintenance Scheduling and Execution planning experience.
  • Experience in very Large Industrial environments (multi-disciplinary teams, multi culture, multi locations).
  • Proven experience leading a multi-discipline and multi-cultural workforce.
  • Able to manage scope delivery through own team, contractor and consultants.
  • Both fluent and articulate in English, able to manage a team in an inspiring manner.
  • General Computer Literacy. Proficient in using standard office software.
  • Contract Holder experience is a definite asset.
  • Red Seal Trade Certified with experience in maintenance an asset

This role requires that you:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). For applicants located outside of the region, you are encouraged to explore what Kitimat has to offer in terms of lifestyle including schooling, local amenities, outdoor adventure, and housing, to ensure Kitimat is where you would like to call your new home.
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • Base Hours: 40hrs per week/5/2. Daily field time is +70%.
  • Know that during Campaign Maintenance and Turnaround events will require additional effort including longer hours and shift work.
  • Have a Valid Driver’s license.
