Junior Environment Technician: Temporary Work Placement - Summer Intern Program C oeur Mining, Inc. is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with five wholly-owned operations: the Las Chispas silver-gold mine in Sonora, Mexico, the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip polymetallic critical minerals exploration project in British Columbia.
The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Junior Environment Technician: Temporary Work Placement to work in a camp-based environment, working 12 hour shifts. Flexible work rotational schedule confirmed at time of hire.

Job Duties
- Assist with environmental monitoring on site including but not limited to, water quality sampling, flow measurements, data downloads, groundwater sampling, drinking water sampling to ensure compliance with government regulations, licenses, permits;
- Perform routine inspections as required by the site Environmental Management System;
- Assist with and monitor reclamation and trial projects as directed by the environment group;
- Perform data quality and control analysis on internal and external data;
- Support site data management and filing;
- Assist in environmental emergency response;
- Record data and observations in an accurate and well-organized manner;
- Communicate effectively with project team members and other departments;
- Assist to coordinate environmental related activities including sample shipment, sampling supplies, maintaining field equipment and schedules;
- Other additional tasks as required and assigned.
Position Requirements
- Enrolled in an Environment Studies program;
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Valid driver's license preferred;
- Proficient typing skills, including proper spelling and grammar.
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
Work Placement Requirements
- Must be registered in a full time or part time post-secondary program in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Silvertip is located within Tahltan and Kaska First Nations Traditional territories and local community members and Canadian Indigenous peoples are encouraged to apply.
- Additionally, remote British Columbia and Yukon residents are encouraged to apply.
- Positions may be eligible for external subsidies and applicants may be required to co-endorse subsidy agreement.
