Contract Specialist – 6 Months’ Contract Join a high-performing Legal team, make an impact, and grow your expertise. At KIK, we believe great contracts help drive great business. We’re looking for a Contract Specialist to join our four-member Contracts Team for a 6-month term to cover a maternity leave. The Contracts Team is nested within the Legal Department. The Department is led by our Chief Legal Officer and partners with business teams across the company. In this role, you’ll review, draft, negotiate, and manage contracts from start to finish, and play a key role in ensuring our agreements are clear, fair, and beneficial for KIK. You’ll report directly to a KIK Legal Counsel and collaborate closely with colleagues across functions. What You’ll Do
- Review, draft, revise, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including supply, services, purchase, NDA/confidentiality, SaaS, staffing/recruitment, licensing, and other commercial contracts.
- Analyze contract terms to identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders - from procurement and finance to operations - to align agreements with KIK’s policies and business objectives.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle: preparing, routing, tracking, filing, and archiving agreements in our contract management system.
- Maintain and update templates, clause libraries, and approved responses to streamline future negotiations.
- Support continuous improvement in processes, templates, and playbooks.
- Participate in team meetings, strategy sessions, and special projects.
What You'll Bring
- Experienced - Minimum five years of hands-on contract review, drafting, negotiation, and administration experience.
- Educated – Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in law is a plus but not essential, if the candidate meets the experience requirement above.
- Skilled communicator - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a gift for drafting in clear, precise English. Proficiency in French is an asset, but not essential.
- Versatile - interest in branching out to other areas (e.g., compliance or privacy) is an asset but not essential.
- Detail-focused - Strong proofreading skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Organized & proactive - Able to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with sound judgment.
