We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Payroll Professional to join the Human Resources team at Lakeland College. This role is essential to delivering accurate and timely payroll services to the employees who help our college thrive every day. As a key member of HR, you will ensure payroll processes are efficient, reliable, and compliant, leveraging your strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence to directly support employees and strengthen our internal systems.
Key Responsibilities

- Administer mid-month payroll advances for all employee groups

- Manage payroll-related onboarding activities for new hires

- Process employee changes related to compensation, benefits, and payroll deductions

- Conduct audits and reconciliations for vacation entitlements, leaves, and benefit plans

- Verify and enter employee contracts and payroll data into PeopleSoft
-
- Maintain strict confidentiality and a high standard of accuracy in all payroll-related activities

- Act as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, discrepancies, and adjustments
- Provide backup support to the Primary Payroll Officer as required
Job Requirements

- A diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

- 3-5 years of practical experience in payroll or a related finance role

- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification, or working towards
-
- Experience with PeopleSoft payroll, or comparable enterprise payroll systems, is considered an asset
Additional Information
This is a Full-Time, permanent AUPE position that comes with a competitive salary ($47,357 - $59,680 per year), generous benefits package and pension plan.
