Position Overview Trillium Health Partners is currently in the final planning stage and start of construction activities of a long-term infrastructure plan announced by the Ontario government which has dedicated significant funding to support the construction of new hospital projects across Ontario. As part of this plan, THP is growing the multi-disciplinary team that will lead planning and project management for the redevelopment and expansion of both the Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre sites. With constant inputs on design and planning considerations from all the respective expertise on the team, our goal is to work together to ultimately produce a holistic and inclusive design.

Trillium Health Partners is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Capital Planning and Redevelopment portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Design (Mississauga Hospital (M site), the Project Manager will be responsible for supporting THP’s Broader Redevelopment Project (BRP) at M site. This role will use knowledge and understanding of the business environment to work collaboratively with all members of the team and executive leadership to plan, implement and monitor progress. This role will take a key role in identifying opportunities, risks, or issues, while developing solutions and controls to ensure project success.

The M Site project is a full replacement of the existing Mississauga Hospital. The new build will accommodate acute beds and a full complement of clinical and non-clinical support programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or support elements of project approach and plan development, as well as implementing necessary processes and practices to ensure the hospital is delivering project objectives and successfully achieving the project's goals
  • The successful candidate will act as the hospital’s representative key point of contact with the hospital M-Site project team and the Ministry of Health
  • Lead quality control and assurance inspections on the hospital / Contracting Authority prepared documentation (Variations / RFI's / SRFI's) and processes
  • Manage and coordination with other agencies having jurisdiction, including but not limited to the hospital operations, third parties and Infrastructure Ontario
  • Contribute to review and analysis of construction schedule, variations and consultants’ reports
  • Advocates for the application of best practice throughout all aspects of the project
  • Build trusted relationships with the project team and key internal/external stakeholders to advance key initiatives
  • Strong ability to summary issues and escalate to Director
  • Preparation, management and oversight of all items requiring HealthWorks Governance approvals (Briefing Notes, User Change request, Variation Pipeline / discretionary and non-discretionary Variation updates, etc )
  • Resource and management of PA governance Committee’s and coordination with THW Governance. Preparation of agenda, record meeting minutes for Works Committee and follow-up on action items.
  • Preparation and coordination with the Planning and Design project team of regular project reporting (budget, schedule and risk) to various committees.
  • Coordination and management of consultant deliverables and contracts
  • Coordination with the Finance team to review, monitor and forecast budget
  • Coordination and management of PCC/OCC Budget pipeline, forecasted cost vs actual cost
  • Management of legal counsel engagement (transaction/PA closing, PLAA related items, dispute resolution, claims)
  • Issues and Risk Management, including internal and external escalation where required
  • Lead and/or support the development of materials, such as reports, briefing notes, requests for proposals, presentations, data analyses and communications
  • Work closely with Project Control Office, to ensure seamless coordination of materials requiring governance reviews and approvals
  • Engage with external project supports and act as a key point of contact for coordination of activities
  • Develop, implement and monitor internal processes to meet project deliverable and CA contractual requirements
  • Ensure ongoing integrated risk identification, evaluation, and monitoring, particularly as related to integration and change management
  • Other duties assigned, as required to meet timelines and deliverables
  • Undergraduate degree required; business, life sciences, health informatics or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management in healthcare environments such as hospitals, government or private sector required
  • Experience working with the Ontario Ministry of Health’s capital planning process and/or Infrastructure Ontario’s AFP/P3 framework is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of the hospital’s strategic plan
  • Strong leadership, adaptability, interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential for this role, including the ability to build strong relationships
  • Experience with project management processes and best practices
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs of senior leaders
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at leading and working with teams, including supporting collaborative design of products with cross-functional groups
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians
  • This position is a hybrid work model with a mix of work from home and on-site work (and/or work at off-site partner locations)

Skills & Qualifications
