Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Principal investigator and/or supervisor and in close collaboration with the study team and study sub-investigators, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies in gastroenterology and more specifically inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Data management is an essential part of this position. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with the research team, IBD physicians as well as with gastroenterology nurses mainly on Investigator-initiated clinical projects and supporting pre-selection of potential participants.

The incumbent may also assist in other research tasks for various clinical projects.

General Duties

  • Ensures follow-up of patients included in clinical trials, in collaboration with the nursing care team,
  • Completes source documents and electronic case report forms,
  • Identify potential patients and obtain their consent,
  • Completes and maintains up-to-date specific trainings,
  • Collaborates and assists team members and sponsors’ representatives,
  • Contacts patients and their families as needed,
  • Screens and collects medical charts of eligible patients,
  • Assists Senior research staff with the ethics and regulatory tasks,
  • Completes of all other connected tasks as assigned by supervisor,
  • Complies with Good clinical practice standards (GCP).

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Field of Study: Pharmacology or other health science

Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s degree

Work Experience: Experience in clinical research will be considered an asset

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
  • Ability to generate and maintain accurate skills,
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills,
  • Efficient decision-making ability.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, part-time (21 hours/week)

Pay Scale: $24.40 à $45.29 /hr. Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Variable Schedule

Work Site: MGH, 1650 Cedar Ave.
