About the role
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, this position will demonstrate exceptional customer service, while accurately managing the care, control, transfer and balancing of financial assets at the gaming site. This position will be on the front lines handling cash and voucher transactions with patrons directly, as well as in the main bank helping internal customers. This position also involves managing transactions between vault and colleague cash desks and maintaining/balancing a float. This position is also responsible for the accurate counting of cash assets in the count room and the movement of cash assets from the gaming floor to the Cashier Cage. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Handles cash and voucher transactions on the front line as well as in the main bank assisting internal customers
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Along with other Count Team members, organizes and secures storage of count carts, drop boxes, and bill cassettes for count pulls (First 3 hours)
- First 3 hours of the shift includes: placement and retrieval of slot machine cash cassettes (plastic boxes (1.5 lbs to 5 lbs each) that capture money
- Pulling out of machines and replacing with new empty boxes (1.5 lbs each)
- Counts currency in the count room
- Bags, bundles, wraps, transports and secures coin currency and bills as per management instructions
- Reports unsecured and suspect counterfeit cash/cash equivalents
- Verifies and reconcile drop boxes and cash cassettes before and after counts
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or an equivalence or combination of work experience and education
- One or more years of experience in customer service and handling cash (preferably large volumes)
- A strong knowledge of cash, foreign currency and other settlement types
- Ability to push or pull a cart of up to 100 - 150 lbs
- A working knowledge of computer software and the ability to learn new software and systems
- Excellent communication, multi-tasking, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- A strong mathematical aptitude, ability to work in a physically demanding area, ability to work within a confined space, have good hand-eye coordination and be familiar with a high-volume, fast paced, shift work environment
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, graveyards, weekends and holidays
