Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Compensation And Benefits
- Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $17.50 to $19.10+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
- Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
Job Summary To execute the proper, efficient, and courteous loading and unloading of our guests. To inspect, record, and report the condition of all lift machinery. To provide maximum ticket security by ensuring each boarding skier/snowboarder has a valid pass product. To maintain proper and efficient levels of snow throughout the entire lift station area. To understand and promote Copper’s products and services.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspection and safe operation of lifts, mountain coaster, tubing hill, and RFID gates
- Execute opening procedures, daily operations and closing procedures for Lift Operations
- Loading and unloading public
- Knowledgeably and efficiently administer emergency procedures including lift breakdowns, evacuation, fire, and accident reporting. Communicate to guests, when appropriate, the status of a lift breakdown
- Execute opening procedures, daily operations and closing procedures for Lift Access Operations (scanning tickets)
- Provide an active and efficient flow of guests through the maze
- Ensure ticket security by monitoring RFID gate access for validation of passes
- Excellent ongoing guest service and extensive snow shoveling
- To communicate and make quick decisions and be a source of knowledgeable information in dealing with guest needs or questions as they arise

Basic Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. and be able to assist picking up fallen skiers
- Must be willing to work 5 days/week, weekends and holidays included
- Must be willing to work as early as 4:00AM and as late as mid-night while ensuring excellent service standards with our guests
- Must be able to meet Copper’s grooming standards
- Must have previous customer/guest relations experience
- Must desire an outdoor job that requires manual labor
- Must have the ability to stand outside for long periods of time in cold temperatures, the ability to shovel snow throughout the work day
- Must follow strict safety guidelines in the operation of lift machinery
- Must be fluent in English and be able to read and write in English
- Must complete the required training class and pass a written test
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to recognize and respond to audible signals (i.e. telephones, beeper system and guest questions)
- Must be able to visually and audibly inspect terminals, motor rooms and line equipment
Preferred Experience And Special Skills
- Intermediate skiing or riding ability
- Owns equipment (skis/snowboard, boots, helmet, goggles)
