About the role
Our client, a growing company specializing in high-rise and development projects, is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist manages the full-cycle accounts payable process in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, ensuring invoices, subcontractor billings, and progress draws are accurately coded, approved, and recorded. The ideal candidate is communicative, professional, and competent, able to collaborate effectively with vendors, project teams, and leadership. A dedicated, organized, and down-to-earth professional who can maintain accuracy and attention to detail while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. Main responsibilities include:
- Process high volumes of vendor invoices, progress draws, and subcontractor billings; match to POs, contracts, and receiving documents; code costs accurately to projects, cost codes, and GL accounts.
- Record and reconcile AP transactions in Procore and QuickBooks; ensure proper HST treatment; assist with month-end accruals and project cost reporting.
- Reconcile supplier and trade statements; resolve outstanding invoices, credits, and disputes; communicate with vendors and project teams to address payment issues.
- Recommend and implement workflow enhancements, support reporting, audits, and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in finance or accounting
- Minimum 4-5 years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounts payable
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience reconciling statements and resolving discrepancies
- Previous experience in real estate/property management is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Yardi and/or QuickBooks is an asset
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $70,000 - $85,000 annual salary
