What is the opportunity?

The Climate Strategy team plays a central role in advancing RBC's goal to be the bank of choice for the transition to a low-carbon and resilient economy, as described in the RBC Climate Blueprint. The team supports strategy delivery while ensuring strong cross-enterprise alignment. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Climate Strategy Intern (Co-op) to join us for the Winter 2026 term. This role is an opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide climate initiatives, with a focus on climate data-related workstreams that support our, while gaining exposure to strategy development, risk management, and regulatory developments.

What you will do?

As a Climate Strategy Intern, you will:

  • Support climate data workstreams, including but not limited to data collection, validation, and analysis
  • Assist in the development of materials for internal governance and senior leadership discussions
  • Conduct research on climate-related regulations and market trends to inform team priorities
  • Help design and maintain dashboards and trackers to support project execution
  • Contribute to cross-team collaboration by preparing briefing notes, summaries, and presentations
  • Provide general project support across the Climate Strategy team as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong analytical, organization and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to synthesize information clearly in written and verbal formats
  • Interest in climate change, sustainability, finance, and/or data strategy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge and understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, OSFI B-15, CSRD, etc.)
  • Familiarity with manipulating large data sets using Python or creating data visualizations (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) is an asset

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2026 Student placement with a start date of January 2026, and end date of April 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2026 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
