Position Overview
The BC Dairy Education Brand Ambassador will represent BC Dairy at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) as part of the “Journey of Milk” Educational display. This role supports public engagement by helping visitors learn about dairy farming, dairy products, and the Canadian dairy industry through friendly, accurate, and interactive conversations. The Brand Ambassador will help deliver approved BC Dairy messaging, support booth activities such as facilitating learning with educational displays, dairy trivia, and cow milking demonstrations.
This position is intended for someone with dairy industry knowledge or related agricultural experience who is comfortable engaging with the public in a busy event environment. The role also supports daily booth operations, works collaboratively with other event staff, and helps ensure BC Dairy is represented professionally and consistently throughout the activation.
Primary Responsibilities
Represent BC Dairy in a public-facing environment. Engage visitors through dairy education and conversations. Communicate accurate dairy industry information. Support booth operations and visitor experiences. Deliver approved BC Dairy messaging and educational content.
Key Aspects Of The Role Include
Standing and walking for extended periods
Engaging with large audiences throughout each shift Working in crowded public spaces Interacting with a diverse range of visitors in a professional and friendly manner Supporting interactive educational activities and demonstrations, including the fiberglass display cow milking experience Adapting to changing event conditions, noise levels, and weather as required This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy public engagement, education, and representing British Columbia's dairy industry in a professional and enthusiastic manner
Required Qualifications
Dairy industry knowledge or related agriculture experience. Experience with public engagement, education, customer service, or events. Strong communication skills. Problem-solving skills and adaptability in busy event environments. Professional, confident, and approachable demeanor. Ability to represent BC Dairy professionally. Experience mentoring or supporting team members in a leadership capacity is an asset. Availability for scheduled PNE shifts between August 27th - September 7th.
Shift Schedule
Brand Ambassadors will be scheduled to work during the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) from August 27 to September 7, 2026, excluding August 31, when the fair is closed. You will be expected to work 6-7 shifts during the aforementioned dates.
Available Shifts Include
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM Schedules will be confirmed prior to the event.
Compensation
$25.00 per hour Paid training and orientation All compensation entitlements will be provided in accordance with British Columbia Employment Standards legislation Admission to the PNE and on-site parking* will be provided by BC Dairy *confirm whether or not you require on-site parking
Training And Orientation
All Brand Ambassadors are required to attend a paid three-hour pre-event training session. Training will include:
BC Dairy educational messaging and key communications
Event operations and run-of-show procedures Booth activities and visitor engagement expectations Emergency procedures and incident reporting Safe work practices in crowded public environments Public interaction and conflict guidelines
Work Environment
This seasonal position requires working at the PNE activation, including evenings, weekends, and the statutory holiday on September 7th (per Employment Standards – paid at regular rate as per length of employment regulations). Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic, high-traffic event environment.
