Job Summary The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates

We are seeking a Director of Food Services to lead our Cook Chill Food Production Center in Milton, Ontario. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee all key facility functions—including production, warehouse, security, transportation, and ordering—while acting as the primary liaison for ministry partners. You will ensure operational efficiency, regulatory and contractual compliance, and strong client relationship management. This role combines strategic direction with hands‑on leadership, guiding a diverse team, managing daily operations, driving financial performance, and championing continuous improvement to support organizational and contractual success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational areas—production, warehouse, security, transportation, and ordering—ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for ministry relations while cultivating strong and effective client partnerships.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including kitchen, production, dietitian, warehouse, and transportation staff, promoting collaboration, productivity, and consistent high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage daily operations and implement strategies to enhance performance, operational efficiency, and achievement of contractual deliverables.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial performance, monitoring expenses and ensuring adherence to financial and contractual expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver required reports to both the Ministry and internal leadership, ensuring alignment with KPIs and contractual commitments.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement timely, effective solutions to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Promote strong communication across all facility teams, ensuring clarity of priorities, objectives, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards, protocols, and continuous workflow optimization.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality Management, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in operations management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a food production facility, including at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Experience working with government or ministry stakeholders is considered an asset.
  • Strong alignment with company values and high ethical standards.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills paired with a proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Strong client relationship management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and interpretation of financial reports.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • High professionalism, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract meeting company safety requirements.
  • Successful completion of vulnerable sector check, criminal record check, and any other required security clearances.
