Job Posting – IT Support Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Assistant to support the organization’s day-to-day IT operations. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining, configuring, and securing our technical infrastructure, ensuring smooth functioning across our internal systems, platforms, and digital tools. This role is essential to the organization's fundraising and marketing activities, ensuring all tech stacks are optimally functioning and secure.

Position Title: IT Support Assistant

Reporting To: Global Senior Data Services & IT Manager

Location: Remote / Hybrid

Number of Positions: 1

Terms: Seasonal (6 Month Contract) – 25 hours per week

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Domain & Website Infrastructure

  • Configure, manage, and maintain the organization’s domain infrastructure.

  • Manage website infrastructure including hosting, performance, updates, and routine backups.

  • Monitor uptime and troubleshoot issues affecting website accessibility or functionality.

Cloud Storage Management

  • Set up and manage cloud storage systems.
  • Ensure regular data backup and restoration protocols are in place.
  • Monitor storage usage and implement best practices for file organization and security.

Email Platform & Cybersecurity

  • Manage user accounts and permissions across the organization's email platform.

  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to prevent data breaches or unauthorized access.

  • Ensure email backups are conducted regularly and recoverability is tested.

Donation & Payment Systems

  • Manage online donation forms, ensuring smooth integration with databases and payment systems.

  • Configure and maintain payment processing systems, ensuring security and compliance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve payment-related technical issues as needed.

Fundraising & Marketing Technology Stack

  • Support the setup, integration, and maintenance of marketing and fundraising tools (e.g., CRMs, automation tools, analytics platforms).

  • Collaborate with fundraising and marketing teams to ensure smooth tech operations.

  • Provide technical assistance with campaign-related platforms or integrations.

General IT Support

  • Respond to and resolve daily technical issues raised by staff (hardware/software).

  • Ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding of users from IT systems.

  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and track service needs.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an IT support, systems assistant, data entry, or administrative support role.

  • Experience working with raw data, generating reports, or supporting programmatic or research functions is beneficial.

  • Experience with cloud storage platforms (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox).

  • Proficiency with email platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) as well as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including working with formulas, filters, and data validation tools.

  • Experience with payment processors (e.g., Authorize.net, Cybersource, Stripe, PayPal).

  • Familiarity with marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar) is an asset.

  • Basic knowledge of data cleaning, reconciliation, and backup processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
