About the role
As the Retail Operations Manager for New Brunswick you will be managing your assigned territory and provide critical operational support to our retail network. Your goal will be to develop and maintain strong relationships with our dealers and joint venture partners to ensure strong brand standard and sales growth. This role will also be assigned to from time to time to lead special projects. Your success will be dependent on your ability to maintain relationships with our dealers and joint venture partners, grow your territory through strong sales performance and new retail site growth, and manage all aspects of your assigned territory.

Your Responsibilities
- Lead and provide a safety culture including personal and process safety
- Develop local and regional market and industry expertise
- Develop annual volume and financial budgets for existing sites located in assigned territory
- Responsible for profit & loss performance and achieving annual budgets for the assigned territory
- Provide day to day operational support to the existing dealer and joint venture network and proactively collaborate with dealers and joint venture partners to develop and execute growth plans
- Conduct annual business reviews with dealer account stakeholders.
- Negotiate existing dealer contract renewals and achieve new retail site growth targets and prepare supporting business cases for approvals
- Build the Irving brand as the branded partner of choice and maintain site level operating standards
- Develop and implement 5-year business and market plans for assigned territory
- Develop a sale pipeline of new retail site and banner conversion opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and be a key contact for support
- Implement marketing and sales initiatives and communicate these programs within our network
- Work closely with marketing to ensure we have competitive loyalty programs and offerings in the market
- Work closely with IT to ensure we maintain a stable and reliable point of sale and credit processing environment for our retail sites.
- Work with credit to manage and limit risk exposure
- Serve as primary resource and assume a leadership role as assigned for network-wide initiatives and special projects
Your Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Financial acumen, with strong negotiation skills and an ability to influence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Goal oriented, with an ability to make independent decisions within established business criteria
- Strong presentation and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily to change
- While not required for this role, bilingualism (French & English) would be an asset
Your Experience
- Post-Secondary education preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in a sales related role, preferably within the retail petroleum industry
- A proven track record of successful sales prospecting and territory management
