The normal work schedule is on arotation of 6 weeks paidi.e., 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks paid to rest.

Responsabilities

Reporting to the Metallurgist, the Metallurgy Technician is responsible for carrying out operations related to process monitoring and optimization. Their main responsibilities are:

  • Compile and produce production follow-up reports;
  • Perform daily measurements for process control and actively participate in in the resolution of problems on the process;
  • Follow up on the on-line analyzer (sampling, calibration and model validation);
  • Follow up on consumables, work orders and spare parts for the metallurgy laboratory equipment;
  • Work in close collaboration with metallurgists and operations teams;
  • Perform the required tests in the metallurgy laboratory (grinding, flotation, sieving, water treatment, etc.)
  • Participate in geometallurgical characterization studies of the ore;
  • Participate in various process optimization project testing;
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good order of the laboratory (MSDS, etc.);
  • Perform duties in accordance with analytical procedures and health and safety, sanitation and environmental standards;
  • Meet company health and safety requirements and recommendations;
  • Performs other related duties associated with this position.

Requirements

  • College diploma in ore processing or metallurgy (or in a related field, or equivalent experience).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Capability to write technical reports.

Profile

  • Experience in a concentrator using the flotation process;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office software;
  • Bilingualism (French and functional English).
