Within Azure Data, the business intelligence team builds and maintains Power BI which is the undisputed leader in BI tool in the industry today and serves as the bridge between data professionals & Office users. The Power BI self-service team's mission is to democratize data visualization and analytics, making it accessible and intuitive for everyone, regardless of their experience in data science. Leveraging LLM is a pivotal tool in this mission, and we aim to provide a seamless and engaging user experience across the Power BI Desktop application and powerbi.com. Our goal is to simplify the analytics journey, enabling users to derive insights effortlessly, and to foster an environment where data-driven decision-making becomes second nature to all.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer II - Full Stack to develop amazing end-to-end features across Power BI's web and desktop application, to make Power BI ubiquitous and enable our customers to extract the full value of their data. You will solve work on creating next generation AI agents and AI assisted user experiences using LLMs, running and maintaining a distributed system for Power BI hiding this complexity behind easy to use and intuitive experiences. You’ll help build and operate distributed services with world-class availability, performance, and scalability. You will deliver modern user interfaces that are performant, reliable, secure, responsive, and accessible.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience with creating responsive and accessible UI using TypeScript, Angular, RxJs, or equivalent
- 2+ years of backend development experience (designing and working with APIs and databases)
Other Requirements
The ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with AI/ML models and developer tools
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $85,000 - CAD $166,800 per year.
