Job Description:
Major Job Functions
- Troubleshoot and repair and maintain Caterpillar mining equipment
- Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
- Large scale overhauls and rebuilds
- Component replacements
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician
- Strong field troubleshooting skills on the Caterpillar mining product line required for field based positions
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract required for field positions
Important Details:
- A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
- Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
