Responsibilities:
- The extruder operator will be responsible for the efficient production of products according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.
- Operates extruders to maximize output while maintaining high quality.
- Practice all health and safety procedures set out by the company and the government.
- Clean and maintain equipment and workstation whenever necessary.
- Assist fellow operators to ensure optimum performance production.
- Attend scheduled meetings.
- Perform the necessary preparation for the complete running of an order.
- Perform quality checks on film.
- Record accurate weights of production and scrap.
- Ensure that film being produced meets all quality standards.
- Ensure finished rolls are properly packaged according to customer requirements.
- Report any equipment failure immediately to the production supervisor.
- Demonstrates awareness of and follows all food safety policies and procedures
- Familiarity with and adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Support Key Departmental objectives and our QMS
- Operate rewinder when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to work as a team.
- Commitment to quality.
- Strong problem identification and problem solving skills.
- Accountability and dependability.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Ability to regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and humidity.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
Experience Required
- Completion of grade 12 or equivalent.
- Extrusion experience an asset.
