We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our busy and growing manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting directly to the Quality Systems Manager, the Quality Assurance Specialist is accountable for the Romet quality system compliance with ISO 9001 system, regulatory requirements, and customer specific demands. This role works closely with the Business Quality Specialist on customer concern management and product certification. Provides support to the Quality Engineer to ensure proving room AST regulatory compliance.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Accountable for the company quality system compliance with ISO 9001 system, regulatory requirements and customer specific requirements
- Ensure the quality policy is updated, and DMT database documentation validity, etc.
- Plan, lead, and execute annual internal audits with cross functions stakeholders and external audits by governing bodies, regulators, and customers
- Document, track, and close the non-conformance findings with presentation to management team
- Promote Romet quality system awareness at all levels of the organization as per Romet quality strategy
- Arrange the training to employees on the process that is critical to quality, or critical to customer(s) as per the Business Quality Specialist recommendation(s)
- Lead the annual customer satisfaction survey process together with the Romet Sales and Customer Care teams, and present the analysis result(s) with top management and initiate continuous improvement program to further improve customer satisfaction
- Assist Business Quality Specialist to achieve Romet product certification or re-certification approval from various international institutes, governing bodies and 3rd parties
- Provide backup to Business Quality Specialist on customer concern case investigation when necessary
- Accountable in closing the customer concern as per Business Quality Specialist direction in a timely manner
- Provide backup support to Quality Engineer on the proving room regulatory compliance training
- Read and interpret specifications and part drawings
- Update work instructions and quality documentation as assigned
- Comply with all quality and safety requirements
- Interview and meet with employees to discuss areas for improvement
- Staying up to date with best business practices and technological developments
- All other duties and related projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and quality management systems
- Experience with Measurement Canada audit is a plus
- Exposure in machining and assembly environments and understanding of process parameters and controls
- Ability to present to management regarding project results
- Advanced knowledge of computer/software (Microsoft Office, ERP Systems, experience in Microsoft Business Central, CSA and Measurement Canada portal, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, documentation, and organizational skills
- Excellent English language communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Solid analytical skills and integrative thinking skills
- Ability to set priorities and handle multiple priorities and be a self-starter
- Project management skills
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- College Certificate / University Diploma in business or quality, or related relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience required or equivalent manufacturing exposure in machine shop and assembly environments
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor experience or qualification considered an asset
- Practical understanding or hands on experience on reading the drawings
- Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis experience
