About the role: Under the supervision of the Coordinator, the Team lead will perform various tasks related to supporting of the direct service team. The team leader will also assume operational leadership during the coordinator's absence. Encourage and uphold a strong team approach, and act as the first point of contact for team members when they have questions or concerns. The TL will train new staff on the established policies, procedures, and protocols so that they can effectively complete their responsibilities. The team leader will also take on some reporting activities, and support employees with meeting expectations. In the absence of team members/roles, the team lead will coordinate coverage of these roles and assume responsibility if needed for the coverage period. This is a supportive housing program, for a diverse group of individuals with barriers who have experienced chronic homelessness.
As the successful candidate, you have:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a leadership and/or management role in the homelessness and supportive housing sector
- Knowledge of the Housing First approach to homelessness, Ontario Land-Lord Tenant Act, SPDAT Assessment, and HIFIS
- Experience managing the day-to-day operations and property management functions associated with a JHS residential location
- Ability to coordinate all on-site program related functions through a gender- and trauma-responsive framework
- Skills to lead a 24/7 staff team and, in conjunction with the Clinical Director, support staff implementation of the on-site clinical model and its associated interventions
- A strong commitment to supporting all residents, as well as youth who may be navigating the transition from youth to adulthood
- Excellent people skills to facilitate relationships with clients, colleagues, supervisors, program partners and community members
- A willingness to work in collaboration with a wide variety of community partners, agencies and emergency services

Be on call for program serious incident occurrences on a 3-week rotation
- Work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends
- Have ownership of a vehicle and/or ability to be extremely mobile to accommodate meetings in the community and internally at JHS sites
