JSI is known for our North American manufacturing of on-trend custom kitchen cabinetry & architectural woodwork packages for the multi-unit residential apartment and condo markets. We have developed a reputation for delivering an incredible quality & value that stands the test of time. Our clients in the market are among the most renowned developers, general contractors, architects and interior designer’s in the biggest cities across the US. Our products can be found in New York City, Washington DC, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle, Hawai’i, the Virgin Islands, and many towns and cities in between. For decades, JSI has also been a specified National Supplier for the likes of Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, IHG & Best Western. In this role, we have made our name supplying & installing Millwork, Cabinetry & Casegoods that meet the requirements of each brand’s standards. We set ourselves apart from the pack by working from the brand prototypes first, and then adapting this knowledge to each new project that comes across our table.
General Scope
The estimator is responsible for preparing take offs, retrieving specifications and crafting details for the purpose of pricing and fabrication.
Functional Responsibilities
Prepare architectural millwork and/or custom kitchen take offs from Interior Design and/or Architectural drawings Research of specified vendors and related specialty products Knowledge of wood doors and hardware, decorative metal (would be an asset) Prepares requests for quotes and submits them to suppliers Follows the bid schedule closely
Qualifications & Skills
Degree or certificate in Interior Design orArchitectural Technology is considered an asset Excellent teamwork and communication skills Well versed with computers, knowledge of common Microsoft software Experience with Architectural and Interior design drawings and specifications is a plus Able to prioritize and handle multiple requests Good communications skills: English (proficient – written & verbal) and French (functional) Experience: 1-3 years related industry experience (preferred) – – Architectural Millwork and/or Interior/Furniture Design Estimating - 2 years (preferred).
