Job Description Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving sales development and brand presence for Bel’s core brands at our key Western Canadian retailers. The KAM will act as Bel’s primary representative in British Columbia, accountable for sales volume, profitability, and strong customer relationships at assigned accounts.
Key Responsibilities

Maximize assortment, pricing, promotions, and shelf presence to achieve budgeted sales growth
-
Manage the trade budget to achieve budgeted sales volume and profitability of all brands/products
-
Lead the negotiation of category agreements and the development and presentation of robust business proposals, including annual joint business plans.

Report on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of account(s)
-
Conduct regular category reviews, analyze syndicated data, and recommend account-specific actions.

Lead appointments in presenting new items and marketing programs for all brands
-
Align customer’s objectives with company’s vision and goals, both short-term and long-term
-
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, internally, externally, and to bring Innovation to market from the idea inception to shelf placement

Update Management on key information regarding assigned account(s) and seek to communicate relevant data to cross-functional partners within the organization
-
Identify opportunities for greater business efficiency and effectiveness across all components of the assigned account(s)

Manage all forecasts and promotions directly within company trade tool (XTEL)
-
Communicate promotional volume and incremental demand to the Demand Planning team
-
Communicate key customer activities, priorities, and insights to field sales teams and leadership.

Investigate and validate customer deductions, working closely with the Finance department on disputes as needed.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in food/FMCG sales, preferably within Western Canadian retail
- Proven ability to execute an effective marketing & sales strategy; can analyze the competitive landscape, define a course of action and meet the needs of Bel and the customer
- Demonstrates the ability to accurately forecast and communicate weekly volume and spending information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with sales trade tools or platforms (e.g., SAP, XTEL or similar)
- Effectively adapts messaging to the audience to drive results, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
- Demonstrates motivation, organizational skills, and initiative, thriving in autonomous settings while exhibiting exceptional planning and time management.
- Requires the ability to think strategically, make clear priorities among competing demands, and evaluate potential results with limited data
- Possesses the ability to build and sustain positive, productive relationships company-wide
- Demonstrates sound business judgment, integrity and a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English (mandatory), French (an asset)
