About the Role
The Solutions Analyst will report to the Business Development Supervisor and be responsible for providing technical and functional business support to users of one or more enterprise applications. This position may have a primary focus on a single enterprise system/application as well as support of other systems. Examples of the types of systems that may be supported by this position include, but are not limited to, Amanda, Microsoft O365 (including SharePoint, Power Platform, and Dynamics), ePlanSoft, and CityWide.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing tier-2 technical support for major business applications. This position will have primary focus on multiple enterprise systems including, but not limited to, SharePoint, Microsoft O365, Power Platform, Amanda, and Citywide.
 - Perform advanced troubleshooting, focusing on continuous availability and performance.
 - Manage and troubleshoot issues in the O365 Environment, assisting with the assessment, deployment, and administration of any additional third-party tools to be considered or introduced into the environment.
 - Assist with security and permissions management for SharePoint sites and content.
 - Work with departments to develop detailed understanding of their business requirements, work processes, application and custom report requirements, then lead initiatives to implement or enhance information technology solutions to support processes and address needs.
 - Maintain system integrity and user security setup, as well as provide programming and change control support for applications.
 - Liaising with external vendors to fulfill their production support requirements.
 - Assisting with training on new systems or modifications to existing systems.
 - Creating and maintaining functional and technical documentation for supported systems/applications.
 - Continually seek opportunities for improving efficiencies in supported systems.
 - Perform other duties as assigned, including those specific to the department.
 
What you bring
- College diploma/University degree in Information Technology, or related field or possess the equivalent education and experience to the satisfaction of the Chief Information Officer of the Information Technology Division.
 - A minimum of three years of demonstrated Information Technology-related experience, preferably in a municipal environment.
 - Previous work experience with the above applications at an advanced level would be considered an asset.
 - Ability to conduct independent research to solve problems and implement innovative solutions.
 - Ability to apply knowledge and experience to determine priorities, coordinate work, and manage time effectively.
 - Experience with Microsoft networks, operating systems, and Active Directory.
 - Experience with core software applications including MS SQL databases and analytical services.
 - Experience developing workflows is considered an asset (i.e. Power Platform, SharePoint, Powershell).
 - Proven analytical, organizational, research, time management, and problem-solving skills.
 - Advocate of design thinking and human-centered design.
 - Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both written and verbal.
 - Ability to work independently and within a team environment, prioritize work assignments and manage tasks within strict timelines.
 - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
 - A commitment to exceptional customer service and professionalism.
 - Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
 
What we offer
- Salary: $82,663 to $94,949 (2026 Rate) - Code 12 of the 2026 Inside Collective Agreement.
 - A comprehensive benefits and pension program to ensure that your total compensation package addresses both your work and life needs.
 - This position is currently eligible for a flexible work arrangement option. Further details on this program will be discussed through the selection process.
 - Hours of work: 35 hours per week
 
Additional Information
A satisfactory criminal record check and proof of qualifications will be required for the successful candidate.
Pre-employment testing may consist of written and oral assessments. To be considered successful, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 60% on each test. The highest score attained across the assessments will be used in the final award decision.
