Position Summary Based out of New Glasgow, Halifax or Mississauga, the Senior Manager or Director, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for advancing the end-to-end financial planning, analysis, and reporting of budgeting and forecasting processes and deliverables for Crombie. The role leverages financial data to enable data-driven decision making across the organization by reviewing historical trends and forecasting future trends, sharing the findings and associated recommendations with Executive and Senior Leadership to drive performance. We are open to considering this role at either the Senior Manager or Director level, depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. Additional duties are:

Organizes and project-manages the preparation of budgets and forecasts, coordinating input across departments to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement to effectively collaborate and enhance Crombie’s financial forecasting capability.

Oversees the monitoring and analysis of various Crombie KPIs, including performance against budget performing ad hoc financial analysis (e.g., breakeven analyses, cost of capital analyses, etc.) to enable all aspects of the business strategy.

Plays a critical role in corporate strategy, financial planning, forecasting, and preparing various materials and presentations for the Board, Senior Leadership team and other key stakeholders.

Contributes to the design and implementation for strategic forecasting in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Complete the review and conduct the variance analysis for the monthly reporting package for the Executive team and contributes to Board and leadership materials.

Supports in the organization and preparation of quarterly public disclosures including the quarterly finance report to the Board and ensures compliance with accounting standards.

With oversight from the VP, Financial Analysis & Treasury, supports corporate financing activities, including quarterly and year-end calculations for the financial components associated with Crombie’s incentive plans (AIP, LTIP, etc.), providing key deliverables to People & Culture and Executive in accordance with annual timelines.

Monitors macroeconomic indicators, market trends, and risks that may influence financial planning and organizational performance.

Provides recommendations to Executive and Senior Leadership on potential actions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Supports corporate financing activities, including sourcing and closing debt and equity transactions, to support strategic initiatives and organizational liquidity.

Proactively identify and implement strategies to enhance cash flow efficiency and minimize financial risks.
-
Supports liquidity management and ensure it is maintained and/or optimized.

Evaluate the organization’s debt structure, ensuring a balance between cost, risk, and flexibility.

Collaborates closely with teams across departments including development, corporate development, finance, people and culture, and operations to align forecasting efforts with organizational goals and initiatives.

Ensures all team members have a clear understanding of corporate and departmental objectives and are held accountable to meet performance standards and objectives.

The profile we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Statistics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in real estate market analysis, forecasting, or strategic planning roles.
- Designation considered an asset, CPA, CFA or other relevant designations.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel).
- Solid understanding of real estate market dynamics, including supply-demand fundamentals, investment strategies, and regulatory frameworks and a knack for translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
