About the role

Posting: 2026-141: Temporary Supervisor of Health and Safety (1.0 FTE) CEC Duties to commence approximately December 1, 2025 and end on/or about February 1, 2027 (or earlier if incumbent returns or circumstances change).

  • 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
  • Non-Union Position
  • Salary Grade 7 - $91,707 - $103,158

Duties Reporting to the superintendent of Human Resources, the Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of comprehensive health and safety programs compliant with all applicable legislation. The Supervisor is also responsible for various Human Resources functions including WSIB, Disability Management and Attendance Support Program (ASP). The position provides support, professional development and direction to school-based programs relative to health and safety and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A recognized University or College Diploma/Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent education/experience.
  • Three (3) - Five (5) years of progressive experience in Health and Safety (preferred).
  • Completion of CHRP or CHRL designation (an asset).
  • Prior experience within the Education sector (an asset).
  • Prior experience in a unionized environment (an asset).
  • Possess strong knowledge and understanding of current legislation, relevant codes and standards.
  • Excellent computer proficiency.
  • Well developed organizational, decision making, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Valid drivers license and access to reliable vehicle are required.
