Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to fulfill a Quality and process minded role in guidance of the Vehicle Processing Centre & Port operations. This is a full-time opportunity, and reports to the Manager, Vehicle Processing.

Ensuring vehicle processing quality at Canadian Ports and Yard facilities involves conducting audits, providing product feedback, and monitoring SOP adherence for PPO installations. The successful candidate will maintain Toyota’s presence with logistical business partners and aid system enhancements, including damage reduction and accessory installations.

Additionally, the role requires translating Toyota’s objectives into actions, assisting vehicle operations, and maintaining updated guidelines. Effective communication and maintaining accurate business forecasts are also essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Translate Toyota sales and planning objectives into actions of all VPC stakeholders to meet KPI’s (e.g., Wholesale & ETA targets)
  • Collaborating with ADM (Accessory Development & Marketing) on new accessory launches, reviewing required tools, templates, installation instructions and quality concerns
  • Oversee all Autoport operations related to vehicle processing, including PDC activities, training, cycle counts, parts ordering, and PQR creation/submission
  • Drive system enhancement initiatives for vehicle processing and VPC operations
  • Provide guidance in vehicle planning activities, including PPO Forecasting (inbound Accessory volume), VIN holds, parts backorder coordination, trade requests, and cycle counts
  • Assist management with executive presentations related to VPC and VDC operations or enhancements
  • Coordinate damage reduction activities for marine, rail, and truck shipments with business partners
  • Guide vehicle damage inspections, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Guide expanded accessory installation opportunities of Postproduction Options (PPO) with Port Operators and VPC’s to grow revenue, and present Kaizen initiatives to improve efficiency and quality of PPO installations
  • Assist with Pre-Delivery Confirmation activities with Port Operators, VPCs, and Yards, acting as a liaison between Port/Yard Operations and VSCLOC
  • Maintain and update Torque guideline /SOPs and functional check sheets for PPO installation
  • Provide coverage for VPCs and Port Operations Management during absenteeism and improve and update daily reporting for VPCs and Port Operations, collaborating with vendors to enhance current systems (ICL/YMS)
  • Ensure corporate/departmental communications are effectively cascaded by hosting weekly team huddles, collaborating daily with Port/Yard Management to review, PPO Processing, SOPs, new programs, and address problem areas
  • Maintain accurate business activity forecasts through ongoing contact with TCI internal, the Vehicle Logistics team, and other impacting business partners
  • Conduct vehicle and facility audits in collaboration with Product Quality Service & Support (PQSS) and ADM Quality
  • Monitor adherence to established SOPs and guidelines related to Postproduction Options (PPO) installation and vehicle processes at Ports, Vehicle Processing Centres (VPC), and Vehicle Distribution Centres (VDC)
  • FA05 Support: Support FA05 activities to ensure the highest level of product quality
  • Other duties as required

What You’ll Bring

  • University degree and/or College diploma, preferably in Logistics and/or Automotive related studies, or a related discipline
  • Practical experience in Logistics field is highly valued
  • Knowledge of how to communicate continuous improvement (Kaizen) and production efficiencies
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • System experience with ICL, YMS, SAP
  • Knowledgeable/understanding of Toyota Production System practices
  • Experience with budgeting and establishing programs to evaluate budget impact of new measures
  • Excellent organizational skillset in building consensus across all levels
  • Advanced strategic thinking, methodical and critical thinking
  • Experience in taking care of multiple priorities
  • Requires some travel within North America
