About the Position: This role is to work with supplies, global shipping and warehouse to receive, store, ship and deliver supplies and samples to appropriate places within the warehouse and global labs also assisting with sample movement and returns. The role’s other focus will be to oversee all activity related to organizing and logging of packing slips for the ERP platform, coding and rebilling of freight invoices.
The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and leadership team routinely interacting with Procurement, operations, finance and other management personnel.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Prepare packaging for outgoing shipments while ensuring proper protection of goods.
- Receiving supplies from delivery trucks and store/organize in proper place.
- Ensure receiving records are complete and accurate; Ensure all PO’s for intercompany shipments include the correct information upon receiving.
- Follow up correspondence with labs on incomplete packing slips and provide guidance on how to fill out and provide dummy packing slips.
- Print, organize and log packing slips into ERP (Oracle)
- Prepare proper documentation for Customs and maintain international shipping records for company goods
- Assist in order ETA expediting with direction from Procurement.
- Follow up correspondence for missing documents on behalf of AP, Finance and Procurement.
- Ensure accuracy of data entry during receiving process and inventory management.
- Load and unload pallets of goods with the forklift;
- Help oversee daily operational tasks for the team under guidance from leadership
- Liaise and provide assistance to both internal and external clients and other branches as necessary
- Coordinate sample movement, returns and disposals in a timely manner
- Deliver incoming shipments to the proper Departments;
- Proper handling of dangerous goods including NORM and High sulfide samples.
- Local delivery and pick up as needed;
- Maintain vehicle inspection logs and assist with various site inspections
- Help manage supply and sample inventory conducting weekly & monthly supply inventory counts;
- General shipping, receiving and warehousing functions as needed;
- Freight coding and rebilling
- Consolidate supply shipments
- Backup to the Global Logistics and Warehouse Leads (Supervisors);
- Assist in training new and crosstraining staff in duties and policies to ensure smooth operation.
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality
- Participate in established HSE initiatives, observe regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- The ability to persevere in the face of challenges and exhibit a resolve toward continuous improvement of the supply chain, warehouse and finance function.
- Excellent prioritization skills under minimal guidance and supervision.
- Strong Communication - Written and Oral.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly.
- Advanced Computer Skills – Microsoft Excel, Databases and MS Office.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Organized, detail orientated and able to multi-task between many goals and strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience in inventory management, logistics or related fields.
- Comprehension of logistics terms and processes for the different modes of transportation.
- BA or BS degree, or DipT in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, International Trade and Transportation or related field (preferred).
- Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving history (abstract required).
- Forklift license and experience operating a narrow isle forklift an asset (on site certification will be required).
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety including OH&S legislation.
- Knowledge and understanding of International Customs compliance and CUSMA shipping regulations.
- Comprehension of logistics and financial terms and processes for the different modes of transportation.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day;
- Ability to communicate via telephone and e-mail without assistance;
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
- Wear issued person protective equipment (PPE) when required
- Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling working around machines pallets and storage bins.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 7.5 hours per shift
- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks
- Comfortable in environments with high dust and noise levels.

- An estimated hourly pay of $28.62 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
