ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is an established 100% Canadian-owned and operated vertically integrated seed company proudly serving Canadian growers and end-users around the world. The company focuses exclusively on creating value throughout the soybean supply chain—from breeding and genetics to supplying the international soy food and beverage markets.
Leveraging heavy investment in genetic development and all critical elements of the soy value chain, our client has brought to market quality non-GM varieties that are in strong demand in the highest value soybean markets in the world as well as top-performing GM varieties across multiple trait platforms.
For over 30 years they have focussed specifically on product development for Canadian acres and are uniquely positioned to offer a world-class selection of soybeans to local growers. Their ability to develop proprietary traited and food-grade varieties, through in-house breeding programs and an array of industry partners across all major trait platforms, is unique amongst seed brands in the market. This is how they know they are putting the best possible genetics in Canadian fields each and every year. They put only the best quality soybean seed in their bags—because they put producers first.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE FOOD GRADE SALES MANAGER
As the Food Grade & Grain Sales Manager, you will lead and grow a well-established food-grade soybean business while serving as the critical link between international customers, growers, production, and logistics. Your days will involve developing customer relationships, identifying market opportunities, leading pricing and sales strategies, and ensuring customer demand is aligned with production and contracting plans. Working closely with cross-functional teams across sales, operations, quality, and logistics, you will help drive business growth while ensuring customers receive high-quality, differentiated products. This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to influence market development, supply chain execution, customer strategy, and long-term business success.
AM I A GOOD FIT FOR THIS FOOD GRADE SALES MANAGER OPPORTUNITY? 10+ years of experience in grain marketing, merchandising, grain sales, or a related agricultural commercial role. Experience selling into international agricultural markets. Demonstrated success building and managing strategic customer relationships. Experience working with specialty crops, identity-preserved programs, or other differentiated agricultural products. Strong understanding of agricultural supply chains, market dynamics, and value-added business models. Proven ability to lead projects, influence cross-functional teams, and drive business results. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Post-secondary education in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Commerce, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Experience with food-grade soybeans, export logistics, international trade, commodity risk management, foreign exchange exposure, and integrated agricultural supply chains would be considered strong assets. Candidates who understand how customer demand, production planning, logistics, and market strategy work together to create value will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.
