Manages the total Purchasing Volume (PVO) of assigned commodities focused on the pooling of materials. Leads a team of Commodity Management Professionals.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Commodity Manager for our Reagent Team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving key initiatives and ensuring the successful implementation of our strategic objectives. Your expertise in Commodity Management will be crucial in optimizing our processes and achieving our goals**.**
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient organizational forms and procedures to continuously detect areas for rationalization and increase profitability.
- Manage resources and ensure competences.
- Ensure the implementation and development of Siemens strategy, initiatives, and regulations according to superior strategy.
- Derive innovative material field strategies based on market intelligence and gear procurement processes towards strategic objectives.
- Initiate, plan, execute, and control demand pooling and supplier management to maximize the contribution to operating profit from materials.
- Deliver results by implementing measures to ensure the most value for Siemens within the own responsibility for a purchasing volume.
- Drive the application of technical levers for sustainable cost and value optimization.
- Drive supplier management processes to obtain the best suppliers and ensure transparency and early integration.
- Manage (Sub) Commodities cross-business (for specific material field) or for one business, and foster cross-functional alignment.
- Coordinate and manage a virtual/line management team to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities and to increase profit from global and cross-business or sourcing for one business.
- Define (Sub) Commodity structure, organization, and strategy in alignment with management; develop and implement material productivity measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the targets.
- Communicate the strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials.
- Negotiate frame contracts; define core assortment; document frame contracts in relevant Supplier Management IT-systems.
- Forward systematically all relevant procurement-related project information (e.g., updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to keep all project participants up to date.
- Identify particular procurement risks, opportunities, and market forces to avoid potential damage/exploit potential opportunities through risk and change management.
- Perform supplier management, in particular supplier development, to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain.
- Be actively involved in the product development/manufacturing process, identify and implement cost reduction measures (design to cost, target costing, standardization, Key Data, Value Engineering, etc.) to achieve the target costs for materials and reduce the overall material costs by fulfilling the necessary functions. Closely align with SCM, R&D/Engineering community, PLM, and Procurement (Commodity Managers, Buyers).
- Include suppliers and contribute to cost-benefit analysis workshops, innovation workshops, and concept competitions with key suppliers to concentrate on the key functions of the materials/projects.
- Introduce and follow up on given cross-functional procurement strategies to ensure internal strategies are linked with the latest technology trends in the supplier marketplace.
- Execute supplier negotiations, contracts, and supplier management in alignment with Commodity Management for local and business-specific suppliers.
- Prepare and drive cross-functional sourcing decisions with interface partners considering the overall business and purchasing strategy.
- Scout and develop new suppliers, jointly with cross-functional partners, developed on the TCO (Total Cost Ownership) concept.
Requirements:
- Experience in the Chemical, Biological, In-Vitro Diagnostic Industry, R&D, Operations, or technical procurement.
- Professional negotiation skills and experience.
- Advanced technical skills to assess suppliers’ technical innovation and solve complex problems.
- Leadership and teamwork skills.
- Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills at all organizational levels, both internal and with suppliers.
- Global mindset and good networking skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in BioChemistry, Chemistry, or other relevant technical area.
- 5+ years of related experience in procurement, preferably with a Medical Technology organization.
- Demonstrated track record of being proactive, self-motivated, with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%, including internationally if required.

The annual base pay for this position is:
Min $78,400 - Max $128,400
Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
