Position Overview:

The Project Manager will be accountable for managing allocated small, low level complexity projects and meeting the objectives on time and to required standards. The individual will be involved in all aspects of managing single or multiple projects and will often be the first point of contact for clients. This is an entry level Project Manager role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the PMO, determine the resources required to complete the project/s and provide estimates of hours required to meet objectives.
  • At project initiation, construct the Project Execution Plan in consultation with the PMO and update and monitor the plan over the duration of the project.
  • Provide engineering consulting for the client relating to the project requirements and potential, most suitable solutions available. Review design with the REV SMEs as required.
  • Source the staff required to deliver the project, requesting resources when required from external and internal personnel and contractors.
  • Identify client training requirements and investigate and correct any gaps in the client requirements, negotiating with clients where appropriate.
  • Select and manage project sub-contractor relationships prior, during and after the project.
  • Arrange and chair project kick off meetings with clients and any sub-contractors involved in the projects
  • Arrange and chair internal project kick off meetings to ensure internal resources are aligned and, in a position to support the project needs.
  • Communicate regularly with clients in order to assess their needs and expectations to ensure accurate delivery of specifications and to manage any issues through to resolution.
  • Provide project updates, cost and schedule reports for internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Provide direction and motivation to project field crews in order to overcome obstacles and reach project objectives within time limits and budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate and oversee support function personnel in the successful completion of each element of the project.
  • Complete administrative tasks and manage required documentation associated with allocated projects
  • In consultation with the PMO Director, review, check and sign off project invoices.
  • Follow up with clients on late invoice payments, resolving any issues and ensuring prompt payment to REV. Escalate to the Account Manager as appropriate.
  • Interpret reports from Project Assistants, Cost Trackers, Designers, production teams, safety and Quality Control Manage all documentation relating to Quality Control and project safety.
  • Produce and maintain process flow documentation for projects and implement consistency within the processes.
  • Work with the Safety team to ensure safe practices are adhered to within the projects.
  • Identify additional revenue opportunities arising from the project delivery and client contact.
  • In consultation with the PMO, conduct project closure reviews to ensure learning. Share findings within REV to maximize best practice.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Project Management.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) considered an asset.
  • Technical background in Electrical studies considered an asset.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification considered an asset.
  • Some field experience in engineering and construction considered an asset.
  • Some purchasing experience considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Projects.
  • Strong understanding of resource planning and infrastructure project lifecycles.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new project requirements on an existing team workload.
  • Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables.
  • Highly effective communication skills.
  • Strong level of skill engaging team members, developing and leveraging those strengths for project success.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
