About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Service Technician to support inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire and life safety equipment across customer sites in the East GTA and Durham Region.
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel within the service area. Ideal candidates are based in East Toronto or Durham Region, with the ability to travel efficiently throughout the territory.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, install, service, and maintain fire and life safety equipment at customer sites and in-shop
- Complete service documentation, including inspection reports and commissioning records, accurately and on time
- Conduct life safety inspections and identify deficiencies, recommending corrective actions
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs
- Complete warranty service work as required
- Provide basic on-site training to customers on equipment use and safety practices
- Operate a company service vehicle in accordance with company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment (vehicle, tools, and job sites)
- Support general shop duties as needed
- Participate in safety training, certifications, and ongoing development
- Follow all Safe Work Practices and contribute to Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
What You Bring
- Experience in a mechanical, technical, or hands-on role (service, shop, equipment, or similar)
- Basic electrical knowledge and strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with fire protection or suppression systems is an asset (not required)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable using mobile devices and service-related technology
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding, safety-sensitive role that involves working with various types of equipment and in diverse work environments. Candidates must be able to meet the following essential requirements:
- Safely lift, carry, and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs independently, with strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Work comfortably in confined or restricted spaces, including climbing ladders and navigating walkways on large equipment
- Successfully complete pre-employment and ongoing drug & alcohol testing, as well as criminal background checks, in accordance with company policy and client site requirements
- Field-based role with daily travel and extended driving across East Toronto and Durham Region
- Occasional overnight travel for training
What We Offer
- Annual salary: $54,000-58,000 based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
- Monday to Friday, salaried position with paid vacation and other time away from work benefits; potential for overtime
- Company-paid training and certifications

- All expenses paid for out-of-town business travel (when required)
