Background:

The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) serves as the voice of the province’s public hospitals, supporting them through advocacy, knowledge translation and member engagement, labour relations, and data and analytics with the goal of helping hospitals build a better health system.

The Senior Advisor, Innovation & Transformation plays a critical role in advancing the OHA’s bold vision for innovation across Ontario’s hospital sector. Reporting to the Director of Innovation & Transformation, the Senior Advisor will collaborate closely with hospital leaders, system partners, and internal stakeholders to implement the OHA’s innovation strategy, designed to empower a thriving, future-ready hospital innovation ecosystem.

This position leads and supports high-impact initiatives that foster a culture of innovation, enable the scale and spread of proven solutions, and promote value-based, sustainable care across Ontario’s hospitals. Through strategic engagement, thought leadership, and strong project execution, the Senior Advisor will contribute to the OHA’s transformation agenda and deliver meaningful outcomes for the sector.

The Position:

Reporting to the Director, Innovation and Transformation, your key areas of focus may include:

  • Innovation Enablement & Scaling: Advance sector-wide efforts to accelerate and scale impactful innovations that address hospital system pressures in partnership with Ontario hospitals, industry, academia, and system partners.

  • Collaboration & Ecosystem Engagement: Build strategic relationships and facilitate knowledge exchange across the health innovation ecosystem to support collective action and learning.

  • Funding Innovation & Value-Based Care: Support the exploration and adoption of progressive funding methodologies and value-based care models as enablers of system transformation.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Lead and manage complex, multi-stakeholder innovation projects aligned with OHA’s strategic priorities.

  • Provide expert advice and insight on health innovation trends, models of care, technologies, and funding approaches.

  • Develop high-quality tools, frameworks, and resources to support member hospitals in adopting and scaling innovation.

  • Support and lead committees, working groups, and communities of practice related to innovation and transformation.

  • Prepare strategic communications materials, including presentations, briefing notes, and jurisdictional scans.

  • Represent the OHA in external forums, cultivating trust-based relationships across the health system and innovation ecosystem.

The Candidate:

We’re looking for a candidate with a Master’s degree in health policy, health administration, business, engineering, or in a health profession or related field. Regulated Health Professional or Engineering designation an asset. PMP certification or equivalent advanced project management training preferred.

You have over 5 years of progressive experience in the health system, preferably in roles focused on innovation, transformation, or system improvement. You have experience working with Ontario hospitals with a strong understanding of Ontario’s health system, hospital sector, funding models, and innovation landscape. Experience with value-based care, digital health, or health technology assessment is considered a strong asset.

You have the proven ability to lead projects from concept to execution in complex environments with multiple stakeholders; possess exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills; with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment; and demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for improving health outcomes through innovation. You are a strategic thinker with a collaborative mindset with a strong service mentality, and needs to be seen as a team player who is committed to lifelong learning.
