Job Description
We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for an IT Specialist - SAP Commercial based in Calgary, Alberta. This position will report to the IT Systems Manager, SAP Functional in London, UK.
Information Technology (IT) develops and optimises the engine that powers De Beer’s digital and technology ecosystems, so our people can make life brilliant in the ways we work and operate. We are a team of highly specialised experts who consistently push the boundaries of digital, technology, and automation - innovating to drive a smarter, safer, and more sustainable enterprise.
This is a tactical and operational role conducting and managing IT demand management, support, governance, analysis, project and vendor management services within the targeted domain. The role is a De Beers Group business expert with extensive knowledge of the Finance systems landscape inclusive of mobile workforce. They are aligned with IT and business objectives and operating model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work safely and be committed to being a safety leader
- Understand and translate business requirements for financial processes into functional and technical specifications for the SAP FI module.
- Optimise business performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and IT systems
- Provide coaching, training and advise on future use of technology and business process to targeted clients
- Work closely with process owners and key users to understand business requirements and drive the building of quality solutions
- Perform functional analysis, requirements definition and solution configuration and testing, in conjunction with delivery teams
- Develop functional specifications and setting of configurations in partnership with third party development teams
- Drive the adoption of best practice and enforce the use of standard systems and solutions
- Keep up to date with technology trends and developments and suggest enhancements
- Act as the key specialist point of contact for service providers and clients in problem solving and investigations related to service and technology incidents and requests
- Ensure the knowledge underpinning application/service delivery is documented, managed and maintained
- Identifies risk root causes and quantify potential business impact. Implements solutions to reduce level of exposure
- Manage and optimise targeted functional systems/modules to support efficient and accurate workforce management
- Ensure finance systems, within scope, compliance with regulations
- Develop reports and dashboards to analyse data for decision-making
- Adheres to and participates in governance forums and processes
Qualifications

An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in the relevant IM or functional discipline

SAP FI Certification is preferred

S/4 HANA Financial Accounting certification is highly advantageous

Deep knowledge and demonstrated hands on experience in SAP FI module
