About the role

The Role The Retail Department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is seeking to appoint 2 motivated and experienced Catering Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of catering duties within our on-site retail outlet, ensuring the delivery of a high standard of food service, food safety, and customer service.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern: There are 2x part-time posts of 20 hours and 17 hours available.

the shifty pattern for the posts are 5 over 7 pattern and require weekend work. The location is the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving patients, staff and visitors.
  • Cash Handling
  • Customer Care
  • Barista Service
  • Organising hospitality for small and large functions
  • General Catering Duties
  • Completion and maintenance of HACCP documentation and adherence to all food safety procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with departmental Health and Safety regulations and policies.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Numerate, literate and practical
  • Ability to maintain the department hygiene standards
  • Basic food hygiene certificate (Training given)
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures (Training given)
  • Knowledge of lifting and handling (Training given)
  • Knowledge of COSHH (Training given)
  • Customer Care (Training given)
  • Training in the use of a range of specialised equipment
