The Position

The Program Assistant (HIA) will report to the Program Manager. This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Support Office. This role is responsible for providing administrative and program support for day-to-day operations which includes data entry, registration processing, program planning, reporting on KPI’s and ongoing communication internally and externally on behalf of AdaptAbilities. They are integral to the success of the program by providing valuable support to families, ultimately furthering the organizational vision. The conscientious Program Assistant will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with disabilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.

Key Functions

  • Process incoming registrations for HIA and Part-Times Programs
  • Hearts in Action - Summer Camp preparation, planning, and programming
  • Provide direct care and purposeful support in an engaging, fun, and safe environment, as needed.
  • Provide administrative support, including but not limited to data entry, documentation management, weekly reporting, and internal and external communication with parents/guardians or stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility managing competing departmental demands
  • Communicate effectively with integrity to individuals, families and co-workers
  • Perform other job-related activities, as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma and a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience; or graduation from an appropriate post-secondary program with a Certificate or Diploma from a College / Technical Institute (Kinesiology, Recreation, Education, Human Services, Administration, and/or Related Discipline).
  • 2-3 years’ experience in related field, with one-year administrative experience
  • Experience working with children, teens, and adults with disabilities is an asset
  • Experience utilizing office applications like Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Clean class 5 driver’s license and vehicle is required
  • Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check are required
  • Intermediate First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required

Compensation: $22.31 to $23.44 depending on experience and education
