When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As job opportunities become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

The Department of National Defense (DND) recognizes that frequent relocations and employment disruptions negatively impact spousal employment, and that spousal employment challenges can also directly impact CAF operations. The MSEI leverages diverse job opportunities, flexible work arrangements, and geographic reach offered by DND and the broader federal public service. The inventory is accessible to hiring managers from all federal government departments and agencies.

Candidate applications are matched to a wide range of job opportunities, and hiring managers request referrals from the inventory when vacant jobs become available.
