Hours:
- PQ: Tuesdays 5 – 7 pm (2 hours/week)
- Bethany: Thursdays 9 am - 12 pm (3 hours/week)

Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC) is a community benefit organization providing comprehensive primary healthcare and innovative community programming through our multiple service locations in Western Ottawa and through our regional programming. At PQ, we strive to meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve. Volunteers
At PQCHC, volunteers and staff are considered partners and work in collaboration to uphold the Centre’s principles, values, and mission. They contribute unique knowledge; experiences and skills that help PQCHC to better connect with Ottawa’s west end community, reflect its diversity and serve its specific needs.
Early ON & Family Centre
EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer free, high-quality programs for families and children from birth to 6 years old where you can:
- Join fun activities – reading, storytelling, sing-alongs, games and more
- Get advice from professionals trained in early childhood development
- Find out about other family services in your community
- Connect with other families with young children
Playgroup Helper
The playgroup helper will assist our Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) during playgroups for families and caregivers with children ages 0-6. Playgroups generally run for 2 hours, with time before and after to set-up and clean up.
Responsibilities
- Supporting RECE staff on-site
- Assist with setting up toy centres (example: water play, puzzle table, art table, etc...)
- Welcome families into the room
- Assist with sign in
- Spend time interacting with the children and adults
- Assist in cleaning and disinfecting the room and toys

Qualifications
- English essential; other languages an asset
- Enjoy spending time with children
- Ability to work with diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Good energy level and physical ability to move around, bend, clean toys, carry lightweight bins.
All volunteers must go through screening, onboarding, and training. PQCHC requires that all volunteers be vaccinated for COVID-19 and can provide proof of vaccination. This position requires a vulnerable sector check (level 3). A letter will be provided.

Founded by community members in 1979, we are one of about 60 non-profit community health centers across Ontario. We are run by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of 12 community members elected at our annual meeting.
Growing With Our Community:
In 1979 we opened our doors with 4 staff. Today, we have over 347 full and part time employees serving our local community and over 400 volunteers.
Mission:
Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre is an innovative community based, multi-service center. We strive to meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve. We work in partnership with individuals, families and communities to achieve their full potential, paying particular attention to those who are most vulnerable and at risk. We offer services in both official languages in designated programs.
