Program: SolidStart 360 Employment PROGRAM
Position Details: IRCC Employment Program – Coquitlam
Temporary full-time (hybrid) position 35 hours per week. Starting as soon as possible until December 19,
2025, with chances of extension. Second language will be an asset.

Summary:
Provides individualized career counselling services in-person and online to facilitate the development of realistic personal
action plans for the employment, further training, or job maintenance support of clients. Assists in client recruitment, monitors
clients’ progress, maintains service records for each client, and participates in quarterly project evaluation and program
reporting activities.
How You’ll Make a Difference:
Provide career planning and job search assistance to facilitate the development of realistic action plans, resumes, cover
letters, and other tools for the employment and/or further training of the client, based on identified skills/interests, key
work experience, and labour market needs. Secure client commitment to, and support for, the action plan.
Deliver services in-person and remotely (online) as needed, tailoring support to the client’s language level. Utilize language
support tools such as first-language interpreters, Google Translate, secure applications, or AI tools (e.g., Synthesia) when
necessary.
Refer clients to skills upgrading opportunities and other supportive services, both internal and external to the agency, to
address their unique intersectionality and resolve knowledge or skills gaps.
Support clients during structured career research, self-assessment, and action planning activities to help them make
informed training and career decisions.
Monitor client progress toward achieving their employment or training goals, providing ongoing support until the action
plan is completed.
Prepare and maintain accurate client records and necessary reports.
Conduct employment outreach and engagement services to build and strengthen relationships at various locations (e.g.,
2SLGBTQ+ centres, faith-based institutions, and community centres serving specific groups) to support clients and promote
services.
Offer direct support in resume screening and customizing applications for specific job opportunities to increase client
success.
Conduct follow-ups with clients who have secured employment to ensure successful labour market attachment.
Perform other related duties as required.
What you Bring:
Career Development Practitioner Certificate or diploma in vocational counselling or diploma in vocational counselling;
Certificate in Essential Skills; or Job Finding Club facilitation and a minimum of 6 months’ employment counselling experience
including facilitation workshops, online webinars and small groups OR an equivalent combination of education, training and
experience. Second language will be an asset.

Knowledge, understanding, and actions related to Indigenous reconciliation and the impact of colonialism in Canada and
worldwide.
Possession of and the ability to maintain a clear provincial Criminal Record Check.

Expected Hiring Salary $24.62 - $27.09 per hour. Dependent on education, training, experience, and internal equity. Wage
grids are reviewed annually. We are a proud and certified Living Wage BC Employer. Our current total compensation
