About the role
Company Description
Who we are.
While technically we’re an operational consultancy, we don’t like to call ourselves consultants. We’re a collection of engineers, innovators and creators who work with companies across industries to simplify the complex, realize untapped potential, and uncover opportunities. We know that our people are our superpower and loving your Monday to Friday is important to us. We’ve been recognized as one of the top 10 Best Places to Work in Canada for the last 6 consecutive years, and number 1 in 2022, which we know has something to do with our culture of rewarding great work with great experiences, fostering rapid career growth, and sharing the success of the business with the whole team.
At Isaac, we do sales differently. Our consultants and partners don’t just deliver projects —
they also build relationships and sell the work. That means sectors (our client-facing business units) own their own growth.
The Director of Sales & Marketing plays a Head Office role: you don’t manage a traditional salesforce, and you won’t be chasing quotas yourself. Instead, you build the systems, processes, brand, and marketing engine that empower our sector leaders and consultants to
succeed.
Roughly 20% of your time will be spent leading Isaac-wide initiatives — building our sales playbook, improving the BD process, strengthening our brand, and driving marketing strategy. The other 80% will be spent as a fractional Director of Sales & Marketing to each sector, partnering directly with sector leaders to help them grow their business units.
This is a hands-on builder role. You'll balance leading and vision with doing — designing systems and processes to help rapidly grow our business, but also personally executing campaigns, tools, and improvements. The VP Revenue remains actively involved in strategic direction; your focus is driving day-to-day momentum and making things real.
You’ll also lead and grow our Head Office Sales & Marketing team — a small but high-impact team that delivers campaigns, tools, analytics, and support across the firm. As their leader, you’ll be accountable for their outcomes as well as their development, growth, and
engagement.
And here’s the kicker: this isn’t a steady-state role. We’ve made real progress in building a
Business Development function, but there’s still lots to do. You won’t inherit a perfect
machine — you’ll be the one evolving it, scaling it, and making it transformative.
What You'll Do
- Define and champion a forward-looking marketing vision and translate it into actionable strategies and measurable results
- Strengthen Isaac’s brand, positioning, and market visibility.
- Own and continuously improve our sales playbook, BD process, and enablement tools.
- Lead firmwide marketing initiatives: campaigns, thought leadership, content, and digital presence.
- Improve pipeline reporting and CRM discipline to drive consistency.
- Build, deliver, or facilitate impactful external sales training and capability programs for consultants and partners to improve their sales skills.
- Act as a fractional Director of Sales & Marketing to sector leaders — a trusted partner helping them grow their businesses.
- Support Leads in executing their go-to-market strategy, leaning in to help with pursuit planning, and client development efforts.
- Customize sales and marketing best practices to fit sector-specific needs.
- Provide coaching, deal support, and insight to improve pipeline quality and conversion.
- Act as a constructive challenger — surfacing blockers, spotting systemic gaps, and ensuring sectors stay accountable for their growth.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Head Office Sales & Marketing team.
- Create a culture of growth, collaboration, and accountability.
- Ensure the team delivers outcomes while supporting their career progression and engagement.
- Act as a champion for their development, aligning their goals with the broader firm strategy.
What Success Looks Like
- Sector leaders see you as a trusted advisor who helps them win and grow.
- Our brand and marketing presence create clear lift in business development.
- Our sales process is more consistent, scalable, and effective across the firm.
- Consultants and partners feel more capable and confident in selling.
- The Head Office Sales & Marketing team is thriving — high-performing, engaged, and
- growing in their careers.
- The Business Development function is stronger and more transformative than when you
- arrived.
Who You Are
- You thrive in a Player-Coach role, where you’re just as effective enabling your team to be successful as you are rolling up your sleeve and driving initiatives forward yourself.
- You’re transformative, not steady-state
- You are comfortable building, iterating, and scaling in a fast-growth environment.
- You balance consistency at the enterprise level with flexibility at the sector level.
- You are outcome focused, and the growth and happiness of your team is a key outcome
- You’re a doer at heart and energized by making things happen and getting into the details when needed.
- You think beyond the immediate and you’re are able to envision long-term outcomes and anticipate future implications of today’s decisions
- You bring a scale-up mindset: bias to action, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity.
What You Bring To The Role
- 10+ years of experience in marketing, sales or BD
- 8+ years of experience in professional services, ideally in a sales, marketing, sales enablement or sales operations leadership capacity (ideally a mixture of them).
- Experience collaborating with and enabling sellers, in particular sellers who may not come from a sales background
- Strong understanding of how consulting or services firms go to market, from brand building to relationship-based sales.
- Experience across the customer journey meaning you’re just as comfortable driving brand campaigns as you are building sales enablement materials as you are leading retention initiatives.
- Comfortable operating in a scale-up environment where systems and processes are still evolving.
Why work for us.
-
You’ll be joining a small team at a fast-growing company that dedicates a lot of effort to career
-
development, which means lots of opportunity for learning and growth
-
The work we do has a tangible, meaningful impact on our clients

-
social events
-
A comprehensive benefits package 100% covered by us, including generous annual wellness allowances
-
You’ll work with good humans who genuinely enjoy spending time together
-
You’ll have great work-life balance – no working on weekends
