ABOUT THE ROLE

St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) is currently recruiting for an internship position with the Centre for Applied Health Research. The Research Intern will be involved in all areas of the research cycle including: data collection management analysis and reporting; application of relevant and appropriate methodology to the research process; and dissemination activities including report manuscript or presentation preparation. This role will provide a recent graduate with the opportunity to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired through their post-secondary education while gaining valuable experience.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

  • Degree in relevant discipline (psychology, health science, kinesiology)

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely both orally and in writing

  • Ability to function and contribute as an effective team member and to work independently

  • Strong project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making skills

  • Flexible with the ability to manage changing priorities

  • Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records actions and information

  • Must be at a minimum intermediate skill level in word processing spreadsheet presentation software

Assets

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline

  • Experience with online survey software (e.g. REDCap)

  • Experience with SPSS and/or Stata statistical software

  • Experience with bibliographic search (e.g. Pubmed) and management (e.g. Zotero) software

  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and Adobe

  • TCPS2: Core certification

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
