Description Under the direction of the Manager, Security & LP Divisional Central Region, the Loss Prevention Manager supports national account customers by providing loss prevention strategies to reduce loss and damage claims, conducts audits, and provide reports to customers to identify areas of opportunity. This position also conducts trends of national damage and loss claims, and prevents and mitigates loss and damages through education, investigation, and observation of shipment handling to both Purolator employees and customers.
Schedule The role typically follows a Monday–Friday daytime schedule, either 7am–3pm or 9am–5pm. Because calls often begin as early as 7am and can continue until 5pm, flexibility is essential. When an investigation or urgent issue arises, support may be required outside standard hours, including early‑morning calls, weekend coverage, or overnight on‑call availability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Loss Prevention briefings at crew meetings.
- Conduct customer packaging compliance and piece count audits.
- Review high loss customer claims history, analysis reviews, reports, and recommendations.
- Conduct investigations/interviews as required.
- Conduct Policy and Procedure compliance audits.
- Assess current security protocols and make recommendations.
- Investigate and report non-compliance issues.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of security related experience.
- 3+ year of supervisory / leadership experience.
- Valid Driver’s license and clear abstract is required.
- Knowledge of Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act and Powers of Arrest.
- Previous experience with CCTV, access control, and security systems.
- Energetic leader and ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to coordinate a wide variety of duties and responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work with a high degree of honesty and integrity.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
- Recognized security accreditation (CPO, CSS, CPP, CISSP, PSP, PCI) is an asset.
- Experience in the courier / cargo / transport industry is an asset.
Education
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) certifications are an asset College education or equivalent is preferred.
- Wicklander-Zulawski Non-confrontational interview certification
