What the job involves
- The Senior Technical Program Manager plays a critical role in delivering complex, cross team initiatives within the Employee Digital Experience (EDE) ecosystem
- This role partners closely with engineering, product managers, service owners, and operations teams to plan, execute, and deliver well defined initiatives while building the skills and judgment required to operate at broader enterprise scale
- Senior TPMs are expected to own execution for scoped initiatives or major workstreams, manage risks and dependencies, and provide clear delivery visibility. These programs are often multi quarter in nature and span multiple engineering and partner teams
- Senior TPMs operate with growing independence, while still benefiting from coaching and guidance from Lead TPMs and leaders for highly ambiguous or enterprise wide decisions
- Drive planning and execution for multi team, multi quarter initiatives or significant workstreams, ensuring milestones, dependencies, and outcomes are clearly defined and tracked
- Decompose larger initiatives into executable plans, sequencing work across engineering and partner teams
- Maintain delivery rigor across scope, schedule, and quality, escalating risks when needed
- Drive readiness and go live checkpoints, ensuring engineering, operational, service, and stakeholder readiness prior to launch
- Identify delivery, technical, and operational risks early; develop mitigation plans and track to resolution
- Actively manage cross team dependencies and integration points across platforms (e.g., M365, endpoint management, collaboration, virtual workspaces)
- Support change management by ensuring impacts are understood, documented, and communicated
- Anticipate downstream impacts across dependent teams and services, not just immediate delivery risks
- Partner with product managers, technology owners, engineering managers, and service teams to align on priorities and execution plans
- Provide clear, concise status reporting tailored to technical and non technical audiences
- Facilitate working sessions, readiness reviews, and delivery checkpoints
- Translate technical complexity into execution focused narratives that enable timely decision making
- Track program health using defined metrics (milestones, risks, dependencies, delivery indicators)
- Contribute to dashboards, reporting artifacts, and operational reviews that support decision making
- Use data to highlight trends, blockers, and opportunities for improvement
- Use metrics to inform execution adjustments, not just reporting
- Apply agile and delivery best practices consistently across teams
- Identify process gaps or inefficiencies and propose improvements
- Contribute to TPM community standards, templates, and shared practices
- Act as a role model for delivery discipline and support the development of junior TPMs through coaching, shared practices, and informal mentorship
