(GMG) has evolved into a leading manufacturer and supplier of metal stampings, assemblies, headrest and armrest inserts, wire form, and other metal components to the automotive industry. _Join our team as our newest _Assembler (all shifts, all locations).
Position Summary:
Production and packaging of quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate welding machines such as spot-welding machines to fabricate metal parts.
- Start-up, shut down and monitor robotic welding production lines.
- Operate metal shaping machines such as wire and tube bending machines.
- Performs all quality inspections required for parts in accordance with instructions issued for the job. Use and care of all gauges, fixtures, charts, and measuring instruments required to produce quality parts. Record results on required forms
- Accurately complete all documents including tagging, quantities, etc. as part number requires
- Maintain an efficient setup in work area.
- Maintain and control all required quality and production documents and follow all aspects of work order system.
- Participate actively in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and tow motor operators.
- Perform all duties and wear all required protective equipment in direct compliance of Company's Health and Safety policy and all applicable OHSA standards.
- Perform all required safety check lists and startup checklists.
- Follow All lock out/tag out requirements.
- Always follow employee handbook requirements.
- Keep equipment maintained to ensure safety, quality, and productive operations. Report issues.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping (5S) at all times. Leave workstations orderly and tidy.
- Performs all other duties as required by management and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Secondary School completion.
- Prior automotive assembly or production experience (preferred).
- Appropriate dexterity for assembly environment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive work.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
