About the role
Material Supply and Logistics Dispatcher places trucks on construction jobs and other sites within the Greater Ottawa Area. The incumbent will be working in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to be self-motivated, resilient and able to work with minimal supervision.

Vacancy: Replacement
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Routing of Tomlinson-owned trucks on various sites
-
Collaborate with operations managers, superintendents, foremen and others to ensure resources are distributed accordingly; attend daily meeting
-
Coordinates with other Dispatchers and sales team on trucking operations and needs
-
Helps with haul rates when required
-
Reviews and approves rental ticket bookings
-
Handles any disputes pertaining to rental tickets
-
Assist accounting with external truck hiring packages, billing third party vendors and ensure proper payments have been made
-
Inquiring and assisting with annual trucking rental rates
-
Assist with finances related to logistics, Fiori and SAP
-
Assist vendor with revenue issues
-
Helps with questions from field staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be comfortable working in a digital environment
-
Must be open minded and a forward thinker; adapt to curve balls and changes
-
Strong Organizational Skills with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks while maintaining composure under pressure

Demonstrate problem solving, trouble shooting and negotiating skills
-
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers and co-workers
-
Ability to work flexible schedule, long hours and be on call every second weekend
-
Work collaboratively as a team player and have the ability to work independently

Some travel to job sites may be required

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Strong technology skills is a must, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and SAP
-
Familiarity of the transportation and logistics industries including dispatching equipment, crews, labour and materials considered an asset
-
Construction experience or proven knowledge considered an asset; Understanding of weights and measurements
-
Bilingual in French considered an asset
COMPESATION INFORMATION
The expected range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
